Hey there,

I do massage and shamanic healing work and am looking for some new music to play during sessions. Any suggestions would be most welcome..I tend to gravitate towards earthy melodic stuff for work, not super dramatic if that helps at all.

Much thanks!

    hi there

so here is a shameless plug for my ambient music

there is currently around 90 minutes of music here for free in three podcasts
    ambientidm.podOmatic.com

I'm not a shaman by any means
    I'm a Christian
and my music is about the wonders and mysteries of God's creation both what is and what is to come

maybe this would work for you or maybe not

Steve Roach is perhaps the greatest ambient musician of all time imho and has many types of music
some of it is very beautiful, expansive and open and some is quite lonely, dark and even subterranean
so don't buy anything by him without knowing about the album first
his website has samples from just about every album with lots of reviews

    i hope this was helpful

Shameless sefl promotion, but try my Lucid Dreams of Solstice Bliss.
My friends do massage therapy and meditation work, and have been using it as background music during their sessions recently.

I recommend the new Isaak Hypnotizer album and any of the AES Dana works. Trancechiller from Peak records is a very nice blissful mix CD and there are lots of other great albums from Peak that really set a good chilled mood.

Just check the board here for my mix, it was voted Psychill mix of the month for July.

    Peace,
    Jay Shaft/DJ Shaft(69)

I'll also send you some links to my shamanic psychill and psydub mixes when I get them posted.

I specifically make chill mixes for the shamanic mindset and for spiritual healing and mind tripping.

Wow! thanks for the great suggestions! am starting to sort thru them all and am not opposed to shameless promotion, I dig checking out new music and artists and seems a good way to do it thru mixes.

Really like the Krill.minima thanks for that one!
Liking the ishq, and adham shaikh ( forgot I have some of his stuff), I really dig Irina's other music, but I think that album you suggested Phil is a little light for my own personal taste, thanks though!

Jack, don't call myself a shaman by any means..that's a word that gets thrown around very easily in this culture and I am very careful around it. I am someone who is interested in how people connect to spirit however that looks for them and if that is something that speaks thru your music then I am looking forward to hearing it!

You too Jay, love psytrance and have used it meditation myself but wonder how my clients would take to it =), Haven't heard a lot of psychill so I hope that will provide a nice balance to use in sessions.

      In Light to You All!

Seconding the Steve Roach and Robert Rich. And don't forget Mixmaster Morris (a/k/a The Irresistible Force), and Brian Eno's "Ambient 2" and "Ambient 4."

also maybe the healer album entitled higher grounds,
          cell
anything off of ultimae pretty much!!
the ultimae has more of slow trance rhythm not sure if your looking for stuff with a beat to it , or just beatless ambient!!
kalp tree is cool but that has beats to it, but def uses healing frequencies!!
          mystical sun too!!

I'll have to go poke around for some other ones, but a group that many of my massage friends have found useful is Anugama: anugama.com/ I haven't heard all of it, but the Shamanic Dreams/Journey ones are pretty good, if I remember...though may be a bit world/new-agey...never really sure where to classify it. lol

I made a library for a friends' shared massage space, so will see if he still has the catalog to post. =)

Hi check out these tracks at this page...

    guerrillasoul.com/chendo.html

i suggest the tracks: prayer, lathian, blair-n-chendo. These are all pretty long tracks and are really good for what you are doing.

Other tracks bloomday and newdilruba you may like but are shorter.

I made some of these tracks in Pune, India at a mediation resort, blair-n-chendo was written for a private concert Yoshi who owns the Jazz clubs in the Bay Area.

Please let me know if you like them!

so much music, so little time!

Ultimae was a great tip phil, thanks...still sorting through, but found sync24 which works quite nicely...really like the healer album too but it might be to intense i'll try it out on a few folks. I definately dig beats, they just have to be on the slow end..

I have both shamanic dream cd's they work well, but the rest of the anugama series has that new agey feel...

So much to go through as far as steven roach is concerned, i'm a little overwhelmed..can someone give me a place to start?

And Chendo, thank you for sharing..i've only listened to prayer so far, but it is quite beautiful

Thanks again everyone! This is great stuff!

as far as steve roach is concerned

        try

        "mystic chords and sacred spaces"
        no beats on that one
        just deep and powerful soundscapes

        or

        "cavern of sirens"
        which has some excellent drumming
